ELERIX CPM1
Module, protection and monitoring board CPM, for LiFePO4 and LTO cells
ELERIX CPM1The Cell Performance Monitor (CPM) is an easy-to-use and effective solution for protecting LiFePO4 and LTO batteries against over-discharge or over-charge. It is supplied without a BCC module holder and DIN rail, which can be ordered separately.
Main functions and features:
When the user-adjustable minimum or maximum of any battery cell is exceeded, the output contacts for the relay coils are closed or opened, respectively. It outputs the voltage of the weakest and strongest cell to a separate output (for monitoring measurements or another superior display or communication module). It uses multi-colored LEDs to indicate the cell with the highest and lowest voltage and its operating status. It has very low self-consumption and a built-in function for emergency battery disconnection from the powered system, including disconnection and self-power-off.It is part of the modular series, meaning it is an open solution that is and will be compatible with related products and components commonly available elsewhere. The quality of workmanship, versatility and technical support options make it suitable for industrial applications as well as demanding solutions in home installations.Usage options:
For a battery with 4 to 16 LiFePO4 or 5 to 16 LTO cells (any number within this range). For more than 16 cells, the plates can be daisy-chained and protective disconnection circuits can be created with auxiliary relays. For controlling bistable (two-coil) relays with a coil of full battery control voltage (or lower) with a 150 ms pulse. One bistable relay can disconnect the charger, the second the load and the third, an emergency relay, forms a backup in case the main relays fail to open. For controlling classic single-coil NO/NC relays with a coil of the entire battery voltage. Two can be used to disconnect and connect the charger, load or as information for a higher-level system, such as a charger, converter or communication module. The third relay is again a backup - emergency. For analog communication (digital voltmeters, warning lights, PLC inputs, etc.)For digital communication via i2c protocol (protocol available on request).Function:
Power supply directly from a protected battery (always from all cells, total voltage min. 9 V max. 60 V).Continuous measurement (200 Hz) of the voltage of all cells and outputting the lowest and highest voltage values to two separate high-impedance outputs (Ucells) for further processing.Marking of the cell with the lowest and highest voltage using a two-color LED, see specifications.LED indication of operating states (normal mode and disconnection due to reaching Umin or Umax).Choice of four fixed predefined upper voltage limits for LiFePO4 cells and four upper voltage limits for LTO cells (Umax).Choice of four fixed predefined lower voltage limits for LiFePO4 cells and four lower voltage limits for LTO cells (Umin). The upper and lower voltage limits are set in hardware, independently of each other, using a rotary switch, without the need for programming.Four outputs for single coil relays (Umin and Umax), two with voltage hysteresis feedback, two without hysteresis feedback.Four outputs for two-coil bistable relays (Umin – load disconnection and connection and Umax – charger disconnection and connection). The opening of the single-coil relay always precedes the opening of the double-coil relay by 20 seconds, which can be used for load relief or charging before completely disconnecting the battery.Emergency outputs for 1-coil and 2-coil bistable relays (Uemergency) designed for emergency load disconnection in the event of a failure of Umin and Umax disconnection.Emergency disconnection of the board's own consumption and safety disconnection from the battery cells after activation of the emergency output Umin or after reaching 4.5 V on any cell.Optimization of CPM's own consumption by dividing the power evenly from all connected cells.Turning the module on and off using hardware buttons located on the board.Switching on, off and reset by potential-free switching of designated outputs (see specifications).BASIC SPECIFICATIONS
